Catering Assistant

Catherine McAuley House is a 35 bedded nursing home.

The role of the Catering Assistant is to ensure that the Catering is kept to a high standard and to assist in the preparation and serving of a variety of foods for residents and staff.

MAIN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  Carry out assigned and delegated task under the supervision of the chefAssist in the operation of standard cooking equipment such as hobs, boilers, steamers, toaster, choppers etc
Participate and direct in the cleaning of the Catering Department and equipment
Assist in serving of meals to residents
Provide drinks and snacks to residents
Set the dining tables for meals and collect all the dishes from floors after meals
Be familiar with resident dietary requirements
Make Visitors feel welcome. Provide refreshments / assistance as and when required
Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to the job role including those that incorporate health and safety, HACCP, infection control and waste disposal
Attend mandatory training days / courses, on or off site, as and when required
Report immediately to the Director of Nursing, or person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another
Undertake such other duties as maybe assigned from time to time by the Chef/ Director of Nursing
