Tarstone Road Maintenance Ltd is looking to recruit a mechanic for its maintenance workshop in Navan, Co Meath. The position involves the maintenance, repair, and periodic safety checks on a wide variety of makes and models of HGV’s, heavy plant and commercial road maintenance vehicles.

We have a well-equipped workshop.

This would be the ideal opportunity for someone looking to relocate to Ireland.

Detailed responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs & road maintenance plant & equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tyre rotations to prevent breakdowns and maximise vehicle performance.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to maintain a safe working environment.
• Solid knowledge of HGV/heavy equipment systems, components, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience in identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices in the automotive industry.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
• A valid driver's license.
• Be a fully qualified mechanic/or have extensive experience in the maintenance and repairs to trucks and road maintenance repair plant (planers, sweepers, etc.,).
• Be able to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles to a high standard.
• Ideally have some welding and fabrication experience.
• Have a relatively good standard of English and Russian/Polish/Ukrainian would be advantageous.
• Willing to work in a team environment.

General:

· Standard Monday - Saturday, Midweek day off can be exchanged. Options for overtime.

· We carry out a variety of work ranging from fleet maintenance, mechanical repairs, refurbishments and fabrication works across our own plant & machinery. Our workshop is equipped with all large tools and equipment.

· Welding experience and qualification an advantage.
