Our client are a very reputable Irish Main Contractor, who are seeking applications for an experienced Section Manager or Finishing Foreman to work on a very large residential construction project in west Dublin. This is a permanent, fulltime position with an excellent salary and benefits package.

Job Description:

Our client are looking for an experienced and dedicated Section Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong site management experience within the Irish construction industry, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves direct oversight of construction activities, managing site teams, and liaising with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage on-site teams, including engineers, foremen, and subcontractors, to deliver project goals while fostering a positive working environment.
Project Execution: Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and Irish building regulations.
Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship and material quality to meet specified standards, addressing any issues promptly to avoid project delays.
Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maintain project schedules and control costs.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring full compliance with Irish health and safety regulations and company policies.
Progress Tracking: Monitor work progress against the project schedule, report deviations, and work with the Project Manager to implement corrective actions.
Subcontractor Coordination: Manage subcontractors, ensuring their work meets project specifications and timelines.
Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve on-site issues, minimizing disruptions and keeping the project on track.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities to ensure project alignment and compliance with statutory requirements.
Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the Irish construction industry.
Proven experience as a Section Manager, Site Manager, or Senior Foreman on construction projects in Ireland.
Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, construction standards, and health and safety legislation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive teams to meet project goals.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.
Solid understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse site teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., MS Project, BIM) and MS Office Suite.
