Our client is a manufacturing organization seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join their Kerry site to maintain a safe and compliant workplace as the company expands.
The Health and Safety Officer will play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment in this manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety programs, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities:
Conduct safety training sessions for employees on relevant topics, including hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe operating practices.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the facility to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate workplace accidents and near misses, documenting findings and developing strategies to prevent future incidents.
Monitor compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in safety initiatives and encouraging open communication about safety concerns.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting drills to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
Prepare safety performance reports for management, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
