Quality Site Engineer (Galway)
The Quality Site Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. The role focuses on overseeing subcontractor work, maintaining project documentation, mentoring and upskilling site engineers, and continuously improving procedures. By prioritizing quality at every stage, the Site Quality Engineer contributes to the successful and efficient delivery of high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
• Oversee all aspects of quality control on-site, ensuring compliance with the Quality Policy and project specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain adherence to the highest quality standards in materials, workmanship, and processes.
• Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance, ensuring their work aligns with quality and safety standards.
• Proactively address quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Mentoring & Upskilling
• Provide guidance and mentorship to site engineers, enhancing their technical skills and understanding of quality standards.
• Support the professional development of engineers through hands-on training and knowledge sharing.
• Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement across the site team.
Documentation & Planning
• Prepare and update project documentation, including progress reports, plant requirements, and quality-related records.
Process Development & Improvement
• Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline existing quality management procedures.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement improved processes that align with industry best practices.
Collaboration & Coordination
• Assist the Project Manager with the design, implementation, and weekly checks of temporary works, ensuring they meet project and safety requirements.
• Foster strong working relationships with subcontractors, promoting collaboration to resolve issues and achieve project goals.
Equipment Management
• Regularly inspect and oversee the calibration of equipment to ensure reliability in measurements.
Lean Principles
• Actively engage in Lean processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste across all project activities.
• Promote streamlined workflows and collaborative problem-solving with the design team and subcontractors.
Environmental & Safety Compliance
• Implement and adhere to the Environmental Policy, promoting sustainable practices and minimizing the environmental impact on-site.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policy to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.

Requirements
• Experience: 3+ years in a similar role, with proven expertise in quality assurance and construction site management.
• Skills:
o Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and upskill engineers.
o A focus on continuous improvement and procedural development.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with site teams and stakeholders.
o Proficiency in quality management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and surveying equipment.
• Certifications: Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, lead auditor certification, or equivalent is a plus.
