Mechanical Estimator – Data Centre Projects

Location: Dublin 4 (Office-based, with potential for hybrid working in the future)

About Our Client: Our client is a leading provider of data centre services, renowned for their innovative practices that reduce costs and enhance efficiency. With total control over the supply chain, they design and build data centres at an accelerated pace, delivering high-quality, standardised, and cost-effective solutions.

The Role: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic team. Based in their Dublin 4 office, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical services in data centre projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest specifications. This role requires occasional travel to Nordic and European sites.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical services, including materials, labour, and overheads.
Evaluate tender documents, contracts, and budgets to provide accurate estimates.
Monitor project costs and manage budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
Assist in the preparation of monthly progress applications, including accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works, or claims.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice on the same.
Assist in procurement activities and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
Contribute to value engineering processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements:
A relevant third-level degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
3-5 years’ experience in mechanical estimating, preferably within the data centre, pharma, or life science sectors.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office suite.
Effective communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally to Nordic and European sites.
