The Opportunity

They are now seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Dublin 4. This role is ideal for someone with strong measurement and take-off capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and a minimum of three years' estimating experience in mechanical services. The position is office-based and may involve occasional travel to projects across Europe, including the Nordics.


Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including materials, labour, and preliminaries
- Review drawings, tender documents, and technical specifications to develop cost plans
- Take-off quantities and apply standard methods of measurement
- Support procurement activities, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value
- Assist with monthly valuations, remeasures, site variations, and cost control processes
- Provide commercial input during pre-construction and design stages
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and contract support

Candidate Profile

- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building Services or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical estimating – ideally in data center, pharmaceutical, or large-scale commercial projects
- Excellent knowledge of measurement standards and take-off techniques
- Strong proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to European sites as needed (occasional)
