Job description: Assistant Accountant

Reporting to: Financial Controller, General Managers

General Purpose of Job:

To consistently apply a professional service to all departments in line with the procedures of the Accounts Department. To assist the Financial Controller in all financial areas pertaining to the hotel. Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts for Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Dylan Hotel, budgeting and forecasting, people management, internal audit and overseeing payroll

Main Duties:

• Work closely with Financial Controller in all aspects of financial control of the Company
• Weekly and Monthly Payroll processing and reporting for two hotels.
• Preparation of VAT and PAYE returns
• Supervision of Accounts Payable team members.
• Bank Reconciliations
• Nominal postings
• Month End journal postings
• Accruals and Prepayments
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of statutory accounts
• Assisting in preparation of audit files
• In conjunction with the Financial Controller ensure a best practice financial control structure in the Company
• Oversee the payroll function
• Other adhoc duties as required
