Key accountabilities will include:
Fault finding and resolution, preventative and reactive maintenance activities; Installation of new equipment and machinery; Sourcing parts at best value to meet business needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels; Working closely with key stakeholders to operationalise new products and progress projects and engineering solutions;Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, reviewing, developing and improving processes, plant and machinery to improve efficiency; Training and developing others in electrical work, new equipment, machinery and processes as necessary;Operating within Food Safety and Health and Safety standards in all aspects of the job role;Any other duties as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the factory.
Working hours will be 5 days out of 6, Monday to Saturday. Regular Saturday work will be required.
Qualifications / Experience:
The ideal candidate will:Hold a qualification in an electrical discipline;Be time served, with extensive relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally in a high-volume food manufacturing plant; Able to read electrical drawings, diagnose and resolve electrical problems and have a good working knowledge of PLC/SCADA and industrial controls, drives, sensors, switches, robotics and automation;Have good computer skills; Have a pro-active, practical approach to problem solving and decision making;Have the ability to work efficiently, effectively, accurately and on own initiative with minimum supervision as well as part of a team in a fast-paced working environment;Demonstrate a professional manner, excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to build good rapport at all levels;Have a flexible approach to working hours;Mechanical experience would be an advantage.
