Rice & Roddy Motors are looking to hire a fully qualified motor mechanic with at least one year of experience post completion of apprenticeship. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a Franchise dealership and must be willing to work towards achieving the CVRT LGV Tester accreditation if they do not possess this already.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Dundalk Co Louth with a competitive salary.

The Role:
The ideal candidates will have experience in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics and be capable of producing quality work in a busy fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:
Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership standards.

Communicating with parts and service department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if the vehicle is awaiting parts, and pursue special order of parts if necessary.

Diagnosing the cause of any malfunctions and perform a repair after confirming authorization by the Service Manager /advisor

Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks and Video health Checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.

Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.

Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.

Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Keeping abreast of technical bulletins and attend Kia training as directed by Aftersales Kia manager

Qualified technician with at least one year of service completed post apprenticeship.

The ideal candidate must be accredited as a CVRT LGV tester or willing to work to achieve this accreditation.

Experience – ideally working within in a franchised dealership.

Ability to clearly complete job card write-ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of franchised standards for warranty write-ups.

Good communication skills written and oral must have the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.

Previous experience working with Franchised Dealer systems diagnosis equipment and modern electronics preferred.

Full clean and valid driving license
